{"id":3022,"date":"2012-05-12T18:35:18","date_gmt":"2012-05-13T01:35:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lichtermanlaw.com\/?p=3022"},"modified":"2012-05-12T18:35:18","modified_gmt":"2012-05-13T01:35:18","slug":"what-is-planned-giving","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lichtermanlaw.com\/index.php\/what-is-planned-giving\/","title":{"rendered":"Planned Giving &#8211; How You Can Benefit a Charity for Generations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Here in West Michigan we are blessed with a lot of charitable families and individuals. \u00a0They give their time, energy, and yes, finances to help benefit area and national charities. \u00a0One of the terms that you&#8217;ve probably seen if you&#8217;ve talked or worked with a charity is &#8220;planned giving.&#8221; \u00a0As common as the term may be, it seems like very few are really aware of what it is or they have the misconception that you must be &#8220;rick&#8221; to make a planned gift.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Put simply, planned giving is\u00a0a method of supporting non-profits and charities that enables philanthropic individuals or donors to make larger gifts than they could make from their income. \u00a0So, a planned gift really is\u00a0any major gift, made in lifetime or at death as part of a donor\u2019s overall financial and\/or estate planning. \u00a0Seems simple, right?
